Seminar chair Outi Ervasti Partner & Managing Director Vision Hunters
Outi Ervasti has been working in management consulting for pulp and paper companies for 20 years. She has gained wide experience in business strategies, investment planning and market research during her years at Pöyry and Ekono and supervised and managed strategy, investment and market research projects for several of the worlds leading pulp and paper companies. The geographical scope of her projects has been global. Besides the consulting activities, Outi has acted as a Board Member and Chairwoman of PRIMA, International Paper and Related Industries Marketing Association, during 2000-2003. Outi Ervasti holds an M. Sc. (Econ) Degree from Åbo Akademi University, Finland, and eMBA Degree from Helsinki School of Economics. She is partner and managing director of Vision Hunters and responsible for global pulp, paper and packaging, strategies, business environment analysis.

Keynote Rainer Häggblom Partner & Chairman Vision Hunters Rainer Häggblom has worked as advisor in some of the largest mergers and acquisitions in the industry. In addition he has advised a large number of transactions in the pulp, paper, paperboard, wood products and other forest industry related businesses in all continents. His strategic advisory clientele includes many of the large companies in the industry, but also smaller companies facing strategic challenges and opportunities. Mr Häggblom currently works as Chairman of the Board of Häggblom & Partners Ltd Oy, Chairman and Founder of Vision Hunters Ltd Oy. He is also Chairman of the Board of The Forest Company Ltd and several other mainly energy and technology companies. As partner and chairman of Vision Hunters he is responsible for global industry strategies, M&A and strategy. Rainer Häggblom holds an M.Sc. (For.) degree from University of Helsinki, Finland and an M.Sc. (Econ. and Business Adm.) degree from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration and did several studies in management institutes including INSEAD, France.

The New Forest Industry and Renewable Energy Hans Sohlström Executive Vice President, Corporate Relations & Development, UPM Corporation
Hans Sohlström was appointed Executive Vice President of UPM in 2004. UPM is one of the world´s largest forest industry companies with operations in Europe, Asia and America in the business areas of Energy and Pulp, Paper and Engineered Materials. As a member of the Group Executive Team and reporting to the CEO he has been leading Marketing, New Businesses and Biofuels, as well as Corporate Relations and Development. Mr Sohlström joined UPM in 1988. He has experience of several senior leadership positions in sales, marketing, operations and general management located in Finland, France and Germany. He is chairman of the board of several UPM subsidiaries, member of board of the Finnish Forest Industry Association (FFIF), European Fine Paper Industry Association (CEPIFINE) and German-Finnish Chamber of Commerce. Mr Sohlström took his Master of Science degree in Industrial Management and Paper Technology at the Technical University of Helsinki and his Master of Science degree in Finance and Business Administration at the Swedish School of Economics.

Fibre Markets Ilpo Ervasti Advisor, Independent Consultant
Mr Ervasti graduated with an MSc in Forestry from the University of Helsinki in 1979. After having served at Finncell (The Finnish Woodpulp Association) and Ekono Oy, he worked 20 years (1989 - 2010) in Pöyry Forest Industry Consulting; last years as a Leading Advisor. Mr Ervasti has 30 years experience in market and business opportunity studies as well as raw material availability studies in the forest industry (recovered paper, pulp and paper) and related fields worldwide. Within the organisation of Pöyry Forest Industry Consulting Mr Ervasti was in charge of recovered paper strategies including supply and demand issues as well as forecasting and sourcing. At present he is an independent advisor and a doctoral candidate in Aalto University researching recovered paper related issues. Mr Ervasti has worked together with the major paper and board industry enterprises, financial institutions as well as industry associations like CEPI and BIR in the challenging world of paper recycling. He is a well known speaker in several international conferences. He has also acted also a Finnish representative and a member of the management committee in the Pan-European research task force (COST E48), which searches "the limits of paper recycling".

Global Economy Helge J. Pedersen Head of Economic Research Nordea, Denmark
Helge J. Pedersen, born in 1959, holds an M.Sc. in Economics. He joined Nordea, Economics Departement, in 1987 and was appointed Chief Economist in 1999. He has been an Associate Professor at the Copenhagen Business School (1987-1998) and DIS - Denmark´s International Study program, teaching American university students (1993-2000). Mr Pedersen is also the author of articles and textbooks in economics, as well as a consultant and author of economic articles for Denmark´s National Lexicon. He was a Member at the EU-Commission expert panel for Baltic Small Facility Project (1996) and a member of the editorial board for the Danish journal The Economist - Samfundsøkonome (1998-2001).

Born in Maastricht (1969), The Netherlands, Monique joined the paper industry immediately after graduating. She has spent her career working in various business development functions in paper production (KNP Publication Paper, KNP Leykam) and in paper merchanting (Buhrmann, PaperlinX). Monique is Commercial Director with PaperlinX Europe since July 2007, key responsibilities include Procurement, Marketing and Strategic Business Unit organization. She holds a BBA- and a cum laude MBA- degree from Nyenrode University, The Netherlands.

Hermano Mendonça graduated at Coimbra University in Informatics Engineering in 1996. He joined Soporcel´s Marketing Department in 1996 as a Product Manager, with responsibility for the entire Office Paper business unit, with international scope. He also held the position of Key Account Manager for international customers. In 2005 he obtained an MBA degree in Marketing by UCP (Portuguese Catholic University of Lisbon). From 2005 to 2007 he was the Product Manager´s Coordinator of grupo Portucel Soporcel, leading the product managers team of 5 persons. In January 2008 he was he was appointed Marketing Director of grupo Portucel Soporcel.

Packaging Trends Orifjon Abidov Economist, RISI
Orifjon Abidov started his career at RISI in 2007 as a research analyst for the European Forecasting Group. Since 2008, he has headed up RISI´s European Paper Packaging service and is responsible for providing near-term and long-term forecast reports for the European containerboard and cartonboard industries. He also contributes to various single client and multi-client reports covering these industries. In 2009, he was the lead author on a multi-client study on the European containerboard industry, Western European Recycled Containerboard Risk of Closure Study 2009, in which he provided a detailed assessment of probability of closure for each mill in the Western European recycled containerboard markets. Orifjon holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics from Brussels University and Bachelor of International Business from Tashkent University of Economics.

Printing & Writing Iwan Le Moine Senior Analyst EMGE & Co
Iwan Le Moine, age 43, is a senior analyst with EMGE & Co, which is a Consulting company, specialising in market research, strategic analysis and forecasts for the world´s paper industry. Iwan (pronounced "E1") joined EMGE & Co. in 1992 and has been instrumental in developing the research and databases of the graphic paper sector. EMGE & Co. perform individual company assignment and commissioned research surveys, as well as a range of multi-client sector reports. The most recent report is the World Graphics Paper forecast (September 2010). This presentation is an abstract of the latest EMGE World Graphic Paper (WGP) report. The WGP report provides data and forecasts for all countries and regions, globally, including demand, trade, output, capacity forecasts and comprehensive listings of machine investments & closures. The coverage includes each printing & writing paper grade: Coated Woodfree, Uncoated Woodfree, Coated Mechanical, Uncoated Mechanical (and separately Newsprint!). Iwan graduated from Southampton University, England with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics and a Masters degree (M.Sc.) in Operational Research. Iwan Le Moine was born and brought up in Brittany and Jersey (Channel Islands), and presently lives in Cornwall, Great Britain, with his wife and three children.
