Sonja is a Business Intelligence Manager and team leader at Metsäliitto Group Business Intelligence Services. Her responsibilities include the development of Business Intelligence Services on Metsaliitto Group level, as well as providing external and internal market information that supports decision-making processes at all Metsäliitto Groups subsidiaries.
Sonja joined Metsäliitto Group in 2000 as a project engineer for origin of the wood systems in the HR department of Finnforest Corporation. Additional tasks included upgrading the environmental and quality systems. Following that, she joined the Environmental Affairs and Quality Management Engineered Wood and Construction team as Vice President. She introduced a voluntary commitment to Corporate Responsibility, Environmental and Quality policy. During that time she also carried out special attention to the requirements concerning eco-efficiency and life cycle measurements of wood buildings. She was part of the team at FMO Tapiola, the highest wood office building in Europe.
Before joining the Business Intelligence Team she worked as a Head of Environmental Affairs and Corporate Responsibility at Metsäliitto Cooperative. Her responsibilities were expanded from wood products industry to environmental and sustainability reporting at Group level.Additionally she was part of the Management team renewing the corporate values of the Group.
Sonja has two Master degrees, Master of Science (Economics) and Master of Science (Administrative) and holds a MBA (Strategic management) and Bsc Forestry.
